Abilify

I was at a starting weight of 120 lbs. I was on Abilify for approximately 3 months and by the end of the 3 months i weighed 145. I did not eat differently and I have always maintained my weight. I actually gained more weight on Abilify than I did throughout my first pregnancy! I have to say it worked great in treating my bipolar. Mainly the depression part. The second side effect was I had uncontrollable movements in my hands and feet. I went to many doctors, including a neurosurgeon who finally figured out it was the Abilify causing it. He also said that it may have become permanent if I did not stop taking the drug and also could happen in my face as well. Needless to say, I am no longer on Abilify! I am now on Lamictal which has been working very well for about a year now.
